| Ice revue – Orchestra stage Leyendecker GmbH sets up stage above the ice The Autostadt park turned into an enchanting winter landscape including a 1,700 m² ice area from January 1 to February 3, 2008. Leyendecker GmbH was commissioned with setting up a special stage construction for a 20-member big band above the temporary ice rink above a lake as well as with the lighting.
The 3m-high stage on 6 columns has a façade complete enclosed with PETG, a kind of Per-spex® whereby the front which is 10m wide and 4m high can be completely opened in 8 min-utes. Setting up the stage on the ice was a special challenge for the Leyendecker GmbH team. The weight restrictions per m² meant only small items of equipment could be used. The per-sonal safety equipment also had to be adapted to the conditions to permit safe movement on the ice. The special construction was prepared and produced in a hall we rented for this pur-pose and which we equipped with our own metal workshop 2 weeks prior to the erection on site. 6-8 technicians, 1 project manager and 4 assistants were deployed with the setting up from December 28 to January 4, sometimes in night shifts.
We would like to thank, at this point, Metallbau Horn and Expo Engineering for the excellent collaboration.
