In January, the world’s leading fair for street and urban wear again opened its doors to 99,543 visitors and 954 exhibitors under the motto "King Size". This represents an increase in the number of visitors by 20 % compared to the fair in January 2007.
Leyendecker GmbH, responsible for the technical service of
the fair for several years, was also commissioned this year
with 2 fashion shows for designers Philipp Plein and Custo
held in the Palau Nacional – the Spanish national museum.
Philipp Plein’s fashion show took place in collaboration with
the Pro7 TV station for which one of the first rounds of the
program "Germany's Next Top Model" with Heidi Klum was
produced.
The Leyendecker crew’s task was to set up a traverse construction to be integrated in the structure without impacting the baroque style of the listed building as well as the exterior lighting and illumination of the facade.
The lack of suspension attachments in the stage area represented a special challenge for the crew comprising 9 light-ing technicians, 3 sound technicians, 3 riggers, 6 assistants, 1 lighting operator, 2 decorators and 1 technical manager who set up 4 trailers of equipment in 3 days.
